| Ron King HOMETOWN: Born in Pittsburg PA. Lived in Longview TX since 1988 OCCUPATION: Process Engineer, S&B Engineering INSTRUMENTS PLAYED: Electric and acoustic guitar, drums (a little) CURRENT COLLECTION (as of Feb-2004): Gibson ES-335, Fender American Custom Strat, Fender American Tele, Gibson Les Paul Classic, Danelectro, Martin 00-15 acoustic, and Sigma D-7 acoustic - BACKGROUND: I started in grade school band playing drums until I cut off my index finger on my left hand. At that point I switched to baritone. My early influences were all from the British rock invasion - Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, and others. I have always been a fan of "art rock" as well - Yes, Genesis (Peter Gabriel era), ELP, Floyd, King Crimson, Tull, the list goes on. PREFERENCES: I am currently listening to Blues based guitar greats like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Gary Moore, Joe Satriani, etc. THOUGHTS: It is an honor and a privilege for me to play with the guys in Silver Lining. I have only been in the band for 2 years and I felt welcome from day one. If you enjoy playing, you will love playing in a band. As the BTO song says "…Get a second hand guitar chances are you'll go far if you get in with the right bunch of fellows...". |
